Dream11 Relaunches as a Fan Hangout Platform Built Around Creators

Dream Sports has launched a revamped version of Dream11, transforming it from a fantasy sports platform into a fan hangout space centred on creators and livestreams. Co-founder Harsh Jain described the shift as a move towards becoming a “second-screen sports entertainment platform,” offering a social experience while watching matches.

The relaunch comes a little over three months after Dream11 paused all its paid contests, which earlier contributed most of its revenue and profits. This change followed India’s new online gaming law that restricts money-based games involving user deposits for winnings.

With the new version, Dream11 aims to make sports viewing more engaging by allowing users to join livestreams hosted by well-known creators, react to match moments, and enjoy banter similar to watching a game with friends. Jain said the company has already onboarded 25 creators and plans to add more while keeping quality in focus.

Dream11 has also introduced an upgraded loyalty programme called DreamBucks. Users can earn these points by watching streams and spend them on shoutouts or pinned chats during live sessions. A major share of revenue will go to creators, with Dream11 taking a smaller cut.

Founded in 2008 by Harsh Jain and Bhavit Sheth, Dream Sports was last valued at $8 billion after raising $840 million in 2021 from leading global investment firms.
