Founded in 2018 by Rohan Nayak, Nishanth KS, and Prateek Dixit, Pocket FM has emerged as one of the world’s leading audio series platforms, leveraging a mix of artificial intelligence and human creativity to scale rapidly.
The company reported a sharp surge in its annual recurring revenue (ARR), taking six years to reach $200 million, but doubling that figure to $400 million in a significantly shorter span. The growth, according to co-founder Rohan Nayak, is largely driven by the company’s AI-native storytelling model.
In a recent LinkedIn post, Nayak highlighted that the platform’s fiction writing co-pilot—trained on billions of minutes of user engagement data—enables creators to transform raw ideas into fully developed, dramatized audio series within minutes. The system also helps identify potential hit content and adapt stories across multiple languages and cultural contexts at scale.
Pocket FM currently supports a global network of over 300,000 creators, who together produce more than 80,000 hours of content every month. The platform’s model has also opened new income opportunities for emerging creators.
Emphasizing its impact, Nayak shared an example of a first-time creator from Hyderabad whose show gained traction in the United States, earning approximately $50,000 (around ₹50 lakh) in a single month—underscoring how the platform is democratizing storytelling on a global level.
