Lenskart unveils India’s first smartglasses with built-in UPI payment feature

Imagine paying for your tea or groceries without even taking your phone out! that’s exactly what Lenskart’s new B Camera Smartglasses promise to do.

The eyewear brand has announced that its upcoming smartglasses will feature built-in UPI integration, allowing users to scan QR codes and make instant payments using voice authentication.

Unveiled at the Global Fintech Festival 2025, these smartglasses are the first in India to include UPI payment capability directly within eyewear. The feature is powered by NPCI’s UPI Circle, securely linking the glasses to a user’s bank account.

Once connected, users can simply look at a QR code, scan it through the built-in camera, and confirm the payment with their voice — no phone or PIN needed.

Lenskart’s founder shared his excitement on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “By integrating payments into the camera of smart glasses, we intend to make this a seamless form of payments.”

Beyond payments, the B Camera Smartglasses also include a POV camera and AI-powered tools that let users capture photos, record videos, and access smart assistants.

Lenskart describes the innovation as combining “vision, intelligence, and commerce.”

The company had earlier experimented with tech-based eyewear through its Phonic Smart Glasses, which allowed users to take calls and listen to music. The new model takes it a step further, merging practicality with cutting-edge technology in India’s rapidly growing wearable tech space.
