Dabur Takes Patanjali to Court Over Chyawanprash Ad Dispute

Dabur, a well-known Indian consumer goods company, has filed a legal case against Patanjali Ayurved over an advertisement related to Chyawanprash. Dabur claims that Patanjali’s ad made misleading comparisons and negative remarks about other Chyawanprash brands, including Dabur’s. The company believes that the advertisement could harm its reputation and mislead customers.

According to Dabur, the advertisement suggests that other brands contain harmful ingredients, which is not true. The company argues that such claims are unfair and create confusion among consumers. Patanjali, on the other hand, has maintained that its product is superior and uses natural ingredients, which sets it apart from competitors.

The legal battle highlights the growing competition in the Indian ayurvedic market, where both companies have a strong presence. Dabur, with its long-standing history, faces tough competition from Patanjali, which has gained popularity due to its focus on natural and traditional products. The case is expected to draw significant attention as it involves two major players in the industry.

The court will now examine the matter and decide whether Patanjali’s advertisement was misleading or not. Meanwhile, both companies continue to promote their products, emphasizing their benefits to attract more customers. The outcome of the case could have a major impact on future advertising practices in the ayurvedic sector.
