Reliance Jio Unveils AI-Powered Jio Frames at 48th AGM, Expands AI Cloud Features

Reliance Jio unveiled its latest innovation, Jio Frames, an artificial intelligence-powered smart eyewear designed to compete with global players in the wearable technology segment. The product was introduced during Reliance Industries’ 48th Annual General Meeting (AGM), marking the company’s push into AI-driven consumer devices.

The announcement was made by Akash Ambani, Non-Executive Director of Reliance Industries, who described Jio Frames as an AI-powered wearable platform built specifically for India. He said the ecosystem has been developed with support for multiple Indian languages and is designed to function as a hands-free digital companion suited to the way Indians live, work and engage socially.

The smart eyewear enables users to capture high-definition photos, record videos and even livestream directly to social media platforms. All content captured through the device is automatically backed up to Jio AI Cloud, ensuring seamless storage and retrieval. The glasses also feature built-in open-ear speakers, allowing users to attend meetings, listen to music or podcasts and take calls without the need for additional accessories.

Powered by Jio’s artificial intelligence model, the device offers contextual assistance, providing instant responses based on what users are doing. For example, it can deliver step-by-step cooking instructions or generate summaries of books being read. Alongside the hardware launch, Jio introduced new updates to Jio AI Cloud, including natural language search capabilities in Indian languages, though the exact number of supported languages has not yet been disclosed.

The upgraded cloud service can also automatically categorise images using AI. Receipts are sorted into a bills folder, while scanned identity documents such as Aadhaar cards are placed into dedicated identity folders. In addition, Jio unveiled Jio Create Hub, a new feature that enables users to convert simple photographs into shareable reels, collages and promotional videos. The company demonstrated how small shopkeepers could create professional product reels within minutes and how families could compile digital albums effortlessly. Further details about the feature rollout are expected soon.
