Telangana Unveils ₹1,000 Crore Startup Fund as Google Opens Its First India Hub at T-Hub

The Telangana government has launched a ₹1,000 crore startup fund as Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy inaugurated the Google for Startups (GfS) hub at T-Hub in Hyderabad. The facility marks Google’s first such hub in India and the fifth globally, signalling a major boost to the state’s innovation ecosystem.

During the event, the Chief Minister urged young entrepreneurs to set bold goals and build global-scale companies from Telangana. He said the state should aim to create at least 100 unicorns by 2034 as part of the broader mission to make Telangana a $1-trillion economy. He added that Hyderabad should be the birthplace of the next Google or at least home to startups valued at $1 billion or more.

Under this collaboration, Google will use the T-Hub campus as its operational base to incubate AI-driven, product-focused startups from the state. Selected startups will receive a year-long coworking space, hands-on mentoring, access to advanced AI technologies and global networking opportunities through the Google for Startups network.

Arjit Sarker, Google’s Hyderabad site head, said the chosen startups would gain access to Google’s strengths across AI/ML, product development, user experience and marketing mentorship. He encouraged innovators to bring forward challenging deep-tech problems, assuring support to help them solve issues with large-scale impact.

Telangana Finance Minister Sridhar Babu also addressed the gathering and reiterated the state’s ambition of becoming a ₹3-trillion economy. He urged founders to take advantage of the growing funding options available within the state and contribute to its expanding startup landscape.
