Young Entrepreneur Builds Streetwear Brand ‘Untamed’ in Bangalore

Streetwear in India is growing into its own culture, and one young entrepreneur from Bangalore is helping shape it. Twenty-two-year-old Nandan Renukappa launched Untamed Streetwear in July 2023, turning a small college project into a fast-growing business. With no background in fashion, Nandan relied on his entrepreneurial drive, having earlier tried ventures in food, logistics, and event management before finding his path in streetwear.

What makes Untamed stand out is its mix of global quality and Indian street culture. Instead of sticking to just luxury or basic merchandise, Nandan introduced a middle ground with oversized T-shirts, hoodies, and other streetwear essentials. A unique idea—the Untamed Cart on Bangalore’s Church Street—helped transform shopping into an experience, boosting sales from just a few T-shirts a day to nearly 60 daily. The brand now earns between ₹3–4 lakh every month, fully funded through Nandan’s personal savings and side hustles.

More than business, Untamed is about building a community. By connecting directly with people at carts and events, the brand has created a loyal base of young customers who see it as a symbol of creativity and self-expression. Nandan’s long-term vision is to grow Untamed into a cultural hub, with collaborations, new categories, and experiences that could make it a leader in India’s streetwear movement.
