Elon Musk has announced that the first version of his new project, Grokipedia (Version 0.1, pre-beta), will be released in two weeks. The platform, described as a next-generation encyclopedia, aims to become “the world’s biggest and most precise source of knowledge, for humans and AI, with no use limits.”
According to Musk, Grokipedia will be powered by his AI system Grok, which will scan existing knowledge bases like Wikipedia to assess the accuracy of every fact, labeling them as true, partly true, false, or missing. He claims the platform will remain ideology-free and committed solely to uncovering factual truth.
Musk has repeatedly criticized Wikipedia for what he calls its “bias and ideological slant,” suggesting Grokipedia will serve as a correction — a more objective and fact-driven alternative for global knowledge.
The announcement sparked mixed reactions on X. While some users applauded Musk’s vision of a neutral and transparent information platform, others expressed doubts about whether any AI system could truly avoid bias. One commenter noted that “AI reflects its creator’s worldview,” while another supported the move, saying it would be valuable if “information remains bipartisan and fact-based.”
With the pre-beta version just weeks away, Grokipedia represents Musk’s latest effort to redefine how information is created, verified, and shared in the AI era.
