Global ecommerce major Amazon has inaugurated its second-largest office campus in Asia in Bengaluru, further strengthening its long-term presence in India. The new facility spans approximately 1.1 million square feet and has the capacity to accommodate more than 7,000 employees across multiple business divisions including technology, ecommerce operations, payments, and seller services.
Located in North Bengaluru, around 15 kilometres from Kempegowda International Airport, the campus was inaugurated by Karnataka’s Minister for Large & Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development, M.B. Patil. The development marks a significant milestone in Amazon’s expansion strategy in the country.
The office has been designed to foster collaboration and innovation, featuring flexible workspaces, meeting rooms, breakout zones, and large event areas. Employee-focused amenities such as recreational courts, landscaped open spaces, and multi-cuisine cafeterias have also been integrated into the campus infrastructure.
Amazon stated that the facility aligns with its broader investment plans in India, where it has already committed billions of dollars to expand its operations and technology capabilities. The company reiterated that Bengaluru continues to play a central role in its global innovation and development ecosystem.
The new campus also incorporates sustainability-focused features, including energy-efficient systems and responsible material usage, in line with the company’s environmental commitments.
