Reliance Retail Limited has acquired the brand Pahadi Local along with its business from Pahadi Goodness Private Limited. The financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
The deal adds a fast-growing nature-inspired beauty brand to Reliance Retail’s expanding portfolio as the company continues to strengthen its consumer brand ecosystem. Founded in 2018, Pahadi Local has built a presence in India’s skincare and wellness segment with products inspired by traditional Himalayan ingredients and wellness practices. The brand focuses on clean formulations and conscious sourcing, using ingredients native to mountain regions such as Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh.
One of the brand’s most recognised ingredients is Gutti Ka Tel, or apricot kernel oil, known for its skincare benefits and widely used in its product range. The company also works with women-led self-help groups in Himalayan communities for sourcing raw materials, supporting local livelihoods while contributing to initiatives related to healthcare, education, and environmental conservation. Reliance Retail said it plans to scale the brand through its nationwide omni-channel network and digital platforms, while the founding team of Pahadi Local will continue to lead the brand’s creative direction and product development.
