Parag Agrawal Returns With AI Startup That Challenges Leading Models

Former Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal has made a strong comeback in Silicon Valley with his new venture, Parallel Web Systems Inc. The company, founded in 2023 and based in Palo Alto, has already raised \$30 million from major investors such as Khosla Ventures, Index Ventures, and First Round Capital. Agrawal, who was removed from Twitter after Elon Musk’s \$44 billion takeover in 2022, is now leading one of the most talked-about AI startups.

Parallel recently introduced its **Deep Research API**, which Agrawal claims performs better than humans and even the most advanced AI models, including GPT-5. The system is already handling millions of research tasks each day for early adopters, including fast-growing AI companies. According to Agrawal, the platform allows businesses to automate human workflows with accuracy levels beyond traditional standards, while coding agents use it to search documentation and fix errors.

Agrawal describes the new tool as giving AI “a browser of its own,” capable of cross-checking results and showing confidence levels in its answers. With this launch, Parallel aims to position itself at the forefront of AI-driven cloud services. The announcement marks Agrawal’s major return to the tech industry after his dramatic exit from Twitter and highlights the growing competition in next-generation artificial intelligence platforms.
